I have spent three nights during Christmas at the Cleadale Bothy with my husband and our two children. Words are insufficient to explain the extraordinary time we had there. The wood burner made our cabin very cosy, the oven gave us a delicious roast for the Christmas dinner looking across a stunning sunset on Rum. Sue had arranged the sweetest Christmas tree in the cabin for our arrival, we felt exceptionally homely. Singing Sands and the Laig Beach were our shelters everyday during our time there. Our children were in tears when it was time to say goodbye.
Sue and Neill are probably the best and the most accommodating hosts we ever encountered. They helped us from and to the ferry, and Sue was very prompt with her email responding. I have to add that the bothy is much larger and even prettier than its photos. We will definitely come back.
Me and three friends had a beautiful 3 night stay in cleadale bothy. It had everything we needed and provided a cosy space after days spent on the beach and walking on the island. With glorious views of Rum it really is a stunning spot. Sue and Neil were really welcoming and helpful, offering us a lift to and from the ferry to the bothy and answering question before our stay. Came with my wife and 6yo twins for some peace and quiet for 5 nights in a beautiful location. And got it.
Sue and Neil were very friendly and extremely helpful throughout, including taking our packs to and from the ferry so we could enjoy the cycle over the island a bit more!
The kids loved the chickens and sheep running about outside.
Few nice hikes, trips to the beach and cycles all followed by a roasting in the cabin with the woodburner on, tremendous.
We loved our time here and will hopefully be back at some point!
We had the loveliest 2 nights in the bothy on Eigg! Sue was so helpful and kept in touch while our boat timings were disrupted and came to meet us off the boat that we eventually got. The bothy is a perfect cosy base to start lots of walking adventures 🙂 thanks so much for everything, we will be back for sure!
